MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A June 11 traffic stop on the Garden State Parkway led to charges against a Manahawkin man involving two stolen vehicles, police said.
According to the Stafford Township Police Department, patrol officers stopped a black Nissan Frontier at about 6:22 p.m. on the northbound side of the Garden State Parkway near milepost 64.1 in Stafford Township.
Police reported that a further investigation found the vehicle had been entered into the National Crime Information Center as stolen by the Millville Police Department on June 8, 2026.
Police identified the driver as Colby Deck, 31, of Sandy Circle in Manahawkin. Deck was arrested at the scene and taken to Stafford Township Police Department headquarters for processing, according to the department.
While Deck was at headquarters, the Stafford Township Police Department Detective Bureau conducted a follow-up investigation into the incident, according to the department. During that investigation, detectives determined that Deck also had stolen a motorcycle on an earlier date and that it was being stored at a residence in West Creek, police reported.
The Detective Bureau then responded to the West Creek residence and recovered the motorcycle, according to the department. A records check confirmed the motorcycle also had been entered into NCIC as stolen by the Millville Police Department on June 8, 2026, police said.
As a result of the investigation, Deck was charged with two counts of third-degree receiving a stolen motor vehicle, according to the police department. Police said he was lodged in the Ocean County Jail and is to appear in Ocean County Superior Court.
