MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Stafford Township police charged a West Creek man Tuesday evening after a pedestrian stop near Route 9 and the Cedar Run Apartments led to the recovery of suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.
The Stafford Township Police Department said its Drug Enforcement Unit conducted the stop at about 6:45 p.m. July 28, 2026, involving 41-year-old Sean S. Buckley of Beckers Corner in West Creek. Police said the stop took place after detectives developed probable cause to believe Buckley was in possession of methamphetamine.
According to the department, detectives searched Buckley and recovered quantities of suspected methamphetamine, suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.
Buckley was charged with possession with intent to distribute less than one-half ounce of methamphetamine, conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, two counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, wandering to obtain or distribute a controlled dangerous substance, and obstruction by flight.
Following processing at the Stafford Township Police Department, Buckley was transported to the Ocean County Jail, according to the department. Police said he is being held pending a detention hearing in Ocean County Superior Court.
