Traffic Stop Ends With Drug Charges For Driver: Stafford Police

STAFFORD, NJ — A motor vehicle stop in Stafford Township early Thursday led to drug charges against a Browns Mills man, according to Stafford Township police.

Police reported that Patrolman Fabrizzio, Patrolman O'Rourke and Patrolman Cahill conducted the stop at about 1:06 a.m. Sept. 17 in the Warren Grove area of Route 539. The vehicle was being driven by William Endicott Jr., 48, of Browns Mills, police reported.

During the stop, officers determined that Endicott had an active outstanding warrant from Hammonton Municipal Court in the amount of $500, according to police. While speaking with him, officers developed suspicion that controlled dangerous substances were being possessed inside the vehicle, police reported.

A search of the vehicle was then conducted, according to police. Police reported that the search resulted in the discovery of quantities of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine.

As a result of the investigation, Endicott was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, suspected methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, suspected cocaine.

After processing at Stafford Township Police Headquarters, Endicott was transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he was lodged pending a detention hearing in Ocean County Superior Court, according to police.
