Drive-Thru Coffee Shop Moves Forward In Barnegat (patch.com) — Barnegat residents could soon see a new 7 Brew drive-thru coffee shop on West Bay Avenue, after the Zoning Board approved a key use variance for the project. The 510-square-foot, drive-thru-only business still needs site plan approval at a future meeting, years after a proposed Starbucks at the same location was rejected.
2. Deborah 'Debbie' Feldman (chestnuthilllocal.com) — A Barnegat resident, Deborah "Debbie" Feldman, has passed away, and her family is asking friends and neighbors to honor her by donating to the Barnegat Food Pantry on North Main Street. Remembered for her warmth and the many lives she touched, Debbie leaves behind loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and close friends. Services will be private for the family.
3. Barnegat man accused of killing wife will remain jailed until trial (shorenewsnetwork.com) — A 67-year-old Barnegat Township man will remain in the Ocean County Jail while he awaits trial on a murder charge in the death of his wife inside their Windward Drive home. Police say they found her deceased and him with a stab wound to his chest, which investigators allege was self-inflicted, while stressing he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
4. Leave Goldenrod to Bloom, Aid Pollinators (thesandpaper.net) — Barnegat High School students and staff have created a native pollinator garden on campus, giving local bees and butterflies new habitat and providing a hands-on outdoor classroom. The project, supported by the Ocean County Soil Conservation District and Xerces Society, ties Barnegat into wider coastal efforts to restore goldenrod, milkweed and other native plants that support monarchs and dune stability.
5. From Ground Zero To The Skies Above, Barnegat Remembers (jerseyshoreonline.com) — Barnegat residents recently gathered at Town Hall under a massive fire-department flag to mark 25 years since the September 11 attacks, with students, first responders and veterans all taking part. Speakers with direct ties to Ground Zero and post-attack air patrols shared personal stories, helping younger Barnegat generations understand the day's impact and the ongoing health toll on responders.
