LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ — The Terraces at Seacrest Village in Little Egg Harbor recently honored six residents who are 100 years old or will reach that milestone by the end of 2026 in conjunction with National Centenarian's Day, observed annually in late September.
The assisted living community said the celebration included Little Egg Harbor Mayor Kenneth Laney Jr. and Deputy Mayor Dan Maxwell.
The honorees were Esther Gerber, 100, Hilda Gordon, 102, Maryanne Rauth, 103, Eleanor Quirk, 102, Dorothy Kirschner, who turns 100 this month, and William Winterberg, who will turn 100 in November. The day included a gourmet luncheon in Seacrest's private dining room, according to the announcement. After the luncheon, Laney presented each resident with an honorary certificate on behalf of Little Egg Harbor Township.
The event was coordinated by Bianca Sutlovich, director of life enrichment at The Terraces at Seacrest Village.
"It was a wonderful privilege to honor these six extraordinary and unique individuals, and we thank Mayor Laney and Deputy Mayor Maxwell for spending the day with them and hearing their stories," said Sutlovich. "We are proud to have this group as part of the Seacrest family, and grateful for the wisdom, stories and joy they share with our staff and fellow residents every day."
One of the honorees, Winterberg, was noted in the announcement for a long list of accomplishments. The community said he is a World War II veteran who served as a U.S. Navy Seabee. It also said he has been a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 75 years and has performed at Carnegie Hall.
The Terraces at Seacrest Village is located at 281 Mathistown Road in Little Egg Harbor. The community said residents have access to apartments, dining, activities and rehab care through Seacrest Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center.
