It's almost time for the first day of school. Here are the important dates for the Stafford and Southern Regional school districts.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Kids will soon be heading back to school. Here are the important dates for both the Stafford Township and Southern Regional school districts.
Both districts start on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Stafford Township School District

Sept. 6: First day of school
Sept. 9: Early dismissal

Nov. 7-11: School closed - NJEA Convention
Nov. 17-22: Early dismissal - parent/teacher conferences
Nov. 23: Early dismissal
Nov. 24-25: School closed - Thanksgiving recess
Dec. 23: Early dismissal
Dec. 26-30: School closed - winter recess
Jan. 16: School closed - Martin Luther King Day
Feb. 17: School closed - professional development day
Feb. 20: School closed - Presidents' Day
Apr. 7-14: School closed - spring recess
May 29: School closed - Memorial Day
June 16: School closed - Juneteenth
June 21: Early dismissal and last day
June 15, 19 and 20 are built in as emergency days. If inclement weather closes schools before Jan. 25, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents' Day, Feb. 17 and/or spring recess days may be used as make up days as well.
Southern Regional School District
Sept. 6: First day
Nov. 7-11: School closed - fall break
Nov. 24-25: School closed - Thanksgiving break
Dec. 26-30: School closed - winter recess
Jan. 16: School closed - Martin Luther King Day
Feb. 20: School closed - Presidents' Day
Apr. 10-14: School closed - spring recess
May 29: School closed - Memorial Day
June 12: Last day
Excessive inclement weather closings will result in Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day and Spring Recess being rescheduled.
