Why are you seeking elective office?
I have served our country and community since the age of 17. Since retiring from the NJ National Guard a little over three years ago I have been looking for opportunities to continue that service in a different capacity. I would like this opportunity to work with our school district to improve the education opportunities for the children of our community.
The single most pressing issue facing our community is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
(Trust in the board and administration) I would like to be a conduit to improve the relationship between the board and the administration. I believe with improved community interaction and transparency at the earliest possibly point of an issue this can be achieved. In the end the current divide is only hurting the students.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
23 years military service with 20+ years in leadership roles. Have extensive experience in critical thinking, decision making, risk management and operational/ logistical planning.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency)
N/A
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Member of the district’s Community Advisory Committee and the District Improvement Panel
The best advice ever shared with me was:
Admit when you don’t know something, because more than likely the person asking the question already knows you don’t.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am a lifelong resident of Barnegat. My careers as a law enforcement officer and military officer have lent to my ability to remain neutral when issues arise. As a result I realize that my personal opinion is just one opinion so I do not rush to judgement on an issue set before me. I will listen to as many sides as I need to formulate the best possible solution.
