Barnegat Man Struck And Killed On Route 18 In Neptune
Frederick Koester, 71, died while trying to cross the highway.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office is looking for witnesses to a Tuesday morning accident on Route 18 in Neptune Township that took the life of a Barnegat man.
Frederick Koester, 71, of Barnegat was struck and killed as he tried to cross the highway from the northbound shoulder to the center median, said spokesman Charles Webster.
The investigation is active and ongoing by the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) and the Neptune Township Police Department. No charges or arrests are expected at this time.
