Barnegat Man Took Pics Of Child In Costco Bathroom: Police

Stafford police said that the Barnegat man, a convicted sex offender, has been involved in previous Costco incidents.

STAFFORD, NJ — A Barnegat man was charged with invasion of privacy and endangering the welfare of a child after taking photos of a 7-year-old boy under a bathroom stall in the Stafford Costco, Stafford police said.

On April 22, at 5:21 p.m., Stafford police said they arrived at Costco after receiving a report of a suspicious individual from the child's father. Costco management helped identify the man as Christopher Dinverno, police said.

Dinverno, 39, is a convicted sex offender under Megan's Law, police said. According to police, Dinverno has been involved in previous incidents at Costco.

Police found Dinverno at Stafford Diner and transported him to Stafford Township Police Department, where he was charged after questioning.

Dinverno was then taken to Ocean County Jail, where he remains lodged.
