Barnegat Morning Report, March 2

Good morning, readers. Today is Friday, March 2.

WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON:

We start things off today with a look at 2012 fluke regulations, which will allow recreational anglers to keep flounder less than 18 inches for the first time since 2008.

Also on the way is a preview of the bracket for the state wrestling championships this weekend. Barnegat's Matt Schofield took third place at the Region 6 state qualifying tournament last weekend, and is the sole competitor from the high school competing at the championships.

We'll also be bringing you the latest from columnist Christine Scheller, and we'll take a look at an event coming up this weekend.

• Today: Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 47. East wind between 8 and 13 mph. 

• Tonight: Periods of rain and possibly a thunderstorm before 1am, then periods of rain between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then periods of rain and possibly a thunderstorm after 4 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall.
