Barnegat PD Finds No Abuse Of Dogs In Kennels At Local Home
Barnegat police inspected the kennels and found all the dogs in good health and dry from the rain.
BARNEGAT, NJ — Barnegat police announced Monday that rumors of abuse or neglect of dogs at a local home aren't true. Residents and an animal-advocacy group expressed concerns of a Village Drive home where dogs were kept outside in kennels.
Barnegat police inspected the kennels Sunday and Monday. An inspection during Sunday's heavy rainfall revealed the dogs were in good health and spirits and had food and water, police said. They were also dry, without any mud or pooling water, according to police.
Popcorn Park Zoo's animal control ensured the conditions complied with the law. The owner was cooperative, police said.
