Barnegat Police Release Sketch Of Luring Suspect

Barnegat Township police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man depicted in a sketch who is wanted for questioning in the recent luring incident of an 11-year-old girl on Bayshore Drive

The man was driving a white work van when he approached the girl - who was on foot - and asked her if she ”needed a ride,” police said.

The girl declined and the subject drove off in an unknown direction of travel. The subject is described as being in his early to mid 50’s, with bushy white hair and wearing sunglasses. The van did not have any markings or lettering that was observed by the juvenile or the juvenile’s mother who witnessed the incident from approximately 50-60 feet away.
