Barnegat, Southern Perform Well in Latest High School Ranking Report

Barnegat lagged a bit behind Southern, but report noted both schools showed improvement over four years.

Just as students prepare to head back to high school, a new report has been released that rates how area high schools are performing.

For the first time this year, Inside Jersey based its scores on four years worth of High School Proficiency Assessment data released by the New Jersey Department of Education, which was then weighted with SAT scores as well.

Although Barnegat Township High School lagged behind Southern Regional  - Inside Jersey awarded Barnegat with a "B" grade and Southern with an "A" grade - a report on nj.com noted that "schools with Bs were the ones that showed the most improvement in the last four years."
