Barnegat Woman Dies After Barnegat Boulevard Crash: Police
Barnegat police performed lifesaving measures on Alice Torsiello, 59, but she succumbed to her injuries, they said.
BARNEGAT, NJ — A Barnegat woman died Sunday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash on Barnegat Boulevard North, Barnegat police said Tuesday.
Shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday Alice Toriello, 59, was trying to make a left turn from Cole Drive onto Barnegat Boulevard North when her vehicle collided with one driven by Rudolph Schoenberg, 28, of Waretown, police said. Schoenberg was driving north on Barnegat Boulevard North toward Route 9, police said.
Police found Toriello unconscious and unresponsive and performed lifesaving measures before she was taken to Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Schoenberg suffered minor injuries and declined medical attention at the scene, police said.
The Ocean County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit, the Barnegat Police Department Traffic Safety Unit and Detective Bureau, and the Ocean County Medical Examiner's Office responded.
