Barnegat Woman Flown To Trauma Center After Three-Car Crash in Stafford

A Barnegat woman suffered multiple injuries in a three-car crash Tuesday on Route 9 after her car was struck by two vehicles as she tried to make a turn into Ferguson Plumbing and Supply, Patrolman Christoper Fritz said.

Helen Jacobelli, 73, was trying to make the turn when a 2010 Hyunda sedan driven by Kristina Parise, 20, Manahawkin - who was traveling southbound - struck the rear of Jacobelli‘s Toyota sedan. The collision forced Jacobelli’s vehicle into oncoming northbound traffic, where her Toyota collided with a 2005 Hyundai sedan operated by Juan Castellano, 23, of Manahawkin.

Jacobelli was flown to Jersey Shore Medical University Medical Center by MonOc 1Medivac Helicopter for treatment of her head, neck, back and legs.

Castellanos suffered internal pelvis and back injuries and was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center by Stafford Township EMS. Parise suffered internal head and neck injuries and was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center by Stafford Township EMS.

Patrolman Jillson was the investigating Officer.
