
Barnegat Township's Deputy Mayor Albert Billie and Committeeman Jeffrey Melchiondo announced Big Lots, a nationwide closeout retailer, have tentatively scheduled the grand opening of their new Barnegat location on Sept. 14.
Big Lots will be located in the old A&P supermarket on Route 9 just north of Barnegat Boulevard.
Melchiondo said the store will offer an assortment of discounted merchandise including, furniture, housewares, bedding and toys.

Big Lots carries brand-name closeout brands and other items including consumable items, seasonal products, furniture, housewares, toys and gifts.
According to officials with Big Lots, the ribbon cutting ceremony is slated for 9 a.m., and will featured the presentation of a $2,500 to the Barnegat High School.

Most importantly, Big Lots has brought 45 new jobs to the community, said Billie.
