Bivins, Continanza, Churney Lead In Barnegat School Board Race

BARNEGAT, NJ — Two challengers and one incumbent lead the unofficial tally for the Barnegat Township Board of Education. Alicia Bivins, Doreen Continanza and Sandra Churney hold the advantage as of 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Seven candidates ran for three available positions. Here are the unofficial results with 14 of 15 districts reporting:

• Alicia Bivins: 4,329
• Doreen Continanza: 3,907
• Sandra Churney: 3,792
• Christopher Sharpe: 3,584
• George Fedorczyk Jr.: 3,485
• Robert Geddes: 3,268
• Justin Deemer: 2,552

Sharpe, Bivins and Churney ran under the ticket "The Next Voice," hoping to bring three new faces to the school board.

Geddes, Continanza and Deemer ran on "The Brighter Future" ticket. Continanza and Geddes current serve on the board.
