Book Club for Tweens Is Back Today At The Barnegat Library

Youth Services Librarian to kids: "Come find out what's new and what your friends are reading."

After a several-months-long break, the monthly book club for middle grade kids is back at the Barnegat branch of the Ocean County Library, Youth Services Librarian Lisa Taylor said.

Kids ages 9 to 12 are invited to return to the regular meetings, to discuss books new and old, hang out with their like-minded peers, watch book trailers, and more.

"It's very informal," said Taylor, who lives in Lovelett and after a brief stint as the Upper Shores librarian has recently returned to the Barnegat Branch. "Rather than read a particular book and talk about it, what we do is share news of upcoming books. Because I review a lot of books, publishers often send me advanced copies of what's coming out soon. I try to get to know the kids and look for the types of books that they like."

"We'll have fun," Taylor said. "There're free books. Come find out what's new and what your friends are reading."
