Bronx Man Sought In Stafford Credit Card Fraud Case: Police

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Stafford Township police said their Detective Bureau has concluded a credit card theft and fraud investigation tied to an April 8 incident at Home Depot on Route 72.

The department said the investigation ended July 31, 2026, and led detectives to identify Joseph Diaz-Herra, 20, of Carroll Place in the Bronx, New York, as the suspect.

According to the police department, the case began after someone unlawfully used a victim's credit card information at the Stafford store. Police reported the card details were manually entered to buy about $973 worth of assorted flooring products.

As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Diaz-Herra. Police said he is charged with third-degree knowingly exhibiting a false government-issued driver's license or other identification, third-degree intent to commit credit card fraud, fourth-degree credit card theft, third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card, and third-degree theft by deception.

The investigation was handled by the Stafford Township Police Department Detective Bureau. Police identified Detective Zac Halliday as the investigating officer in the case.
