Burger 25's New LBI Location Opens This Week

Enjoy a Reef and Beef or just a classic cheeseburger when Burger 25 opens their new Ship Bottom location this week.

SHIP BOTTOM, NJ — Burger lovers of Long Beach Island, rejoice! Burger 25's newest location in Ship Bottom is officially opening on June 8.

For the uninitiated, this family-owned Toms River spot has become famous for its fantastical milkshakes, community collaborations and of course, having some of the best burgers in the state.

The new spot is located at 1915 Long Beach Blvd. It will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the summer, with the possibility of late night hours. And yes, it will be open year-round.

Denise and Steve Vetter, along with children Alexis and Aaron, began their burger journey nearly a decade ago.

“Building a brand was not initially a dream of ours. But when my husband started to lose his hearing, and worried that he would no longer be able to work in the mortgage business, we needed a Plan B; so we bought a little burger joint. We've come a long way from that first building. It may not have been in our plans, but it sure has become our passion!” Denise Vetter said.

Steve Vetter said the family chose LBI because of the beach vibe of the mom-and-pop shops and people walking around.

Burger 25 will continue to collaborate with local businesses as they do in their Toms River location. The June burger of the month, an Angus beef burger, with bacon, egg, and cheese, on an Ob-Co's glazed donut, will be recreated in Ship Bottom, with Ferrara's Island Bakery.

The new location will have a walk-up shake window and lots of parking, a rarity on the island.

A grand opening will be held later in the month, once daughter Alexis and new son-in-law Robert Wasilick return from their honeymoon. Their wedding was last weekend, and the day after they immediately headed down to LBI for the finishing touches.

When friends recommended they take a break, Denise Vetter replied, “There is no time for breaks. We are going all in!”

Residents and visitors alike have been eagerly anticipating the new location for months, poking their heads in to ask if Burger 25 is open yet.

“We are so excited for this Thursday when we can say - Yes we are!” Denise Vetter said.
