Car Drives Through Front Door Of TGI Fridays In Manahawkin

Glass and debris completely surrounded the vehicle as it was lodged between the frame of the glass doors, police said.

A car drove through the front door at TGI Fridays in Manahawkin on Wednesday, police said.

At 12:15 p.m., Stafford Police were dispatched to TGI Fridays on Route 72 on a report that a vehicle that had driven through the front door.

Officer Robert Mullin was the first officer on scene and observed a silver Mercury Mountaineer in the front vestibule of the Fridays. Glass and debris completely surrounded the vehicle as it was lodged between the frame of the glass doors, police said.

The driver, 19 year old Dillon Thiverge of Manahawkin, was trapped in the vehicle, but appeared uninjured. Assisted by the Stafford Fire Department, Dillon climbed out the rear hatch of the vehicle.

He was interviewed by police and checked out by Stafford EMS, but did not sustain any injuries. He related the cause of the accident was brake failure. South Shore Towing responded and pulled the vehicle out of the restaurant.
