Chipotle Coming To Southern Ocean With Manahawkin Location

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Southern Ocean County will soon fill its Chipotle void. Chipotle Mexican Grille will open on Route 72 at the site of the former Sonic Drive In.

The restaurant expects to open sometime in late winter, a company spokesperson told Patch. Chipotle will take up a space of about 3,000 feet, according to the Asbury Park Press.

The Chipotle spokesperson says they do not have further details at this time.

Ocean County has a few Chipotle restaurants, but they're all in the northern region. The closest is in Toms River. The Mexican-food chain has more than 2,000 locations in the United States.
