Christmas Tree Lighting Rescheduled In Stafford

Friday's rainy forecast means that the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony's date has changed.

STAFFORD, NJ — Due to rain in the forecast, Stafford has moved its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony from Friday to Thursday.

Join Stafford Recreation at the municipal complex (260 E. Bay Ave.) to kick off the holiday season on Nov. 30 at 6 p.m.

Mayor Greg Myhre and the Township Council will be there to light the tree with Miss Stafford, Junior Miss Stafford, Little Miss Stafford and Little Town Crier.

The evening will feature entertainment by the Southern Regional Jazz Sax Quartet and Starlight Performing Arts Center, according to Stafford Recreation. There will also be hot chocolate and other treats by the Coffee Bouteaque.

Plus, Santa and Mrs. Claus will stop by for a visit. Note that they will not be available for pictures at the lighting, but they will taking photos at the Holiday Wonderland and Christmas Market on Dec. 9 at Heritage Park. Read more: Where To See Santa In Barnegat-Manahawkin This Christmas Season
