Grounds Supervisor Robert Osborn was honored for his "eagerness to help" and "unwavering attitude," Cirulli said.

Committeeman Al Bille, liaison to the Recreation Department, personally thanked Osborn. He said without Osborn and his staff, Barnegat would not be able to have drive-in movies or concerts that had to be moved inside due to rain.

"We wouldn't have Pirates Day, we wouldn't have the fireworks, we wouldn't have so much," Bille said.

Finally, school Superintendent Dr. Brian Latwis was thanked and presented with a key to Barnegat.

Latwis was recognized for his "commitment and loyalty to the residents of Barnegat," Cirulli said. He emphasized that Latwis always picks up the phone when needed.

Latwis also commended the selection of the other three employees, saying "you couldn't have asked for three better people."

Separately, when Committeman Joe Marte honored the police officer of the month, he chose Ptl. Brian Weber, the school resource officer.

Weber. who has worked for the school for four years, helped the school with ALICE protocols over the summer, and also helped with Barnegat's National Night Out, Marte.

"He has given an invaluable asset to the agency and township," Marte said. "And quite honestly, I don't know if anything is more important than the safety and security of our schoolchildren."
