Crash Involving Propane Truck Closes Route 72 In Manahawkin, Police Say

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A crash involving a propane truck has partially closed Route 72 in Manahawkin Thursday afternoon, according to Stafford police.

The crash occurred at Route 72 West and Jennings Road, police said. A minor leak was reported and fire personnel are on the scene.

Both drivers involved reported minor injuries, police said.

Route 72 is closed eastbound at Route 9 and westbound at Jennings Road. A nearby business is being evacuated as a precautionary measure, police said.

Police ask that drivers avoid the area as emergency personnel assess the situation and attempt to get traffic flowing again. Expect major delays on Route 72, East Bay Avenue, and the connecting roads.
