State police are asking for the public's help in identifying a Hispanic man found dead in the woods of the Stafford Forge Wildlife Management Area last week.
The man's body was discovered by a couple walking their dog in the woods in the Eagleswood section of the refuge, state police have said.
There were no obvious signs of trauma. The cause of death was undetermined after an autopsy last week. The man carried no identification, state police have said.
"The man had no identification and troopers are seeking the public's assistance to identify him," Sgt. Adam Grossman said.
The Toms River Police Department assisted in the investigation and has released a new sketch of the man.
He is described as between five feet, five inches and five feet, eight inches tall, and between 130 and 165 pounds. The man is believed to be of Hispanic heritage and may be between 50 to 60 years of age, according to the description released by the state police.
Any information to aid this investigation can be called in, even anonymously, to Det. Sgt. Simonson at Tuckerton State Police Station at 609-296-3132. The investigation is being assisted by Troop C Criminal Investigation Office, State Police Major Crimes Unit, and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
