Document Shredding Program Comes To Barnegat

Need to get rid of your personal documents? You can shred your papers in Barnegat on Sept. 24.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Looking to get rid of personal documents in a secure manner? Ocean County has announced the return of its Document Shredding Program, coming to Barnegat on Sept. 24.

The event will be held at the Barnegat Township Recycling Center Lot, 5 Lippencott Ave., from 9 a.m. to noon.

The program is free and there is no need to register. Any Ocean County resident can go to any of the locations. The county asks that you only bring paper documents with your social security number or active accounts on them. If you're not sure what is acceptable to bring, you can take the quiz here.

Events will run the full time or until the truck is full. No commercial papers are accepted. Only paper will be accepted in a maximum of five file boxes or clear bags.

Sept. 17: Lacey Township Recycling Center Parking Lot, 820 Municipal Ln., 9 a.m.-noon

Sept. 24: Barnegat Township Recycling Center Lot, 5 Lippencott Ave., 9 a.m.-noon

Oct. 1: Ship Bottom Municipal Boat Ramp, West 10th St. and Shore Ave., 9 a.m.-noon

Oct. 15: Brick Township Public Works Lot, 836 Ridge Rd., 9 a.m.-noon

Oct. 22: Beachwood Municipal Complex Parking Lot, 1600 Pinewald Rd., 9 a.m.-noon
