Dog Dies After Being Kicked By Manahawkin Man: Police
The 40-year-old Manahawkin man was charged with third-degree animal cruelty.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A Manahawkin man was charged with third-degree animal cruelty following the death of his dog, the Stafford Township Police Department said.
Police responded to a local home on July 24 regarding the death of a pet dog, according to a news release.
Initial investigation revealed that Christopher Cook, 40, had kicked the dog one time and shortly after that the animal died, police said.

A further investigation resulted in Cook being charged on Aug. 20.
Cook surrendered himself to Ocean County Jail on Aug. 22, police said.

He was processed and released pending future court proceedings.
