Dog Starts Fire Trying To Eat Cupcakes; Manahawkin Kids Save Day
The pooch turned on the stovetop while trying to eat nearby cupcakes. Four kids saw the fire and acted quickly.

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Not all superheroes wear capes — some get their clothes from the kid's section. A dog turned on a Manahawkin home's stovetop Oct. 14 while trying to retrieve cupcakes up there. Four smart, attentive children saved the day.
Colton Davis, Brody Nacarlo, Landon Nacarlo and Avery Nacarlo were playing outside when they heard a neighbor's smoke alarm go off. The kids ran up to the house where they saw smoke inside the windows and a distressed dog barking by the front door.
They quickly called 911 and ran back to their house to alert their mother. The Stafford police and fire departments quickly arrived and extinguished the fire. They determined the hungry dog was responsible, as the cupcakes caught fire when the pooch tried to retrieve them.

But since the children quickly called 911, the dog wasn't hurt and the fire was put out before any structural damage occurred. The children were recently honored as Stafford Township's Local Superheroes.
Their bravery was recognized at Fusaro's Pizza, who donated food for the event.
