BARNEGAT, NJ — A downed utility pole closed a road in Barnegat Friday afternoon, police said.

Police asked drivers to avoid Warren Grove Road/Route 532 in the area of Route 72 in a Nixle alert sent shortly after 12 p.m. on Friday.

The road was closed and traffic detours were in place due to the downed pole, police said.
