Efforts To Save Historic Surflight Theater In Beach Haven Have Failed
Landmark theater will go up for auction on Aug.6.

The Surflight Theatre will go up on the auction block on Aug. 6, despite many efforts to save the longtime Beach Haven landmark, according to app.com.
Anyone interested in buying the buildings and properties must bring a $100,000 certified check to the event, said Oren Klein, a managing partner with AuctionAdvisors of Montclair, which is managing the liquidation along AJ Willner Auctions of Springfield.
“An auction sale is scheduled and has been ordered by the bankruptcy court,” Klein said Thursday. “All previous attempts to purchase this asset and continue operating it in its previous form have failed. That is why we are at this point where we hope that now, through a well-marketed auction, that a party with the capital behind them will purchase this property.”
