Former Southern Regional Teacher Wins In Court Against District
Darcy Kolodziej lost her job eight years ago when the district did not renew her contract.

A former health and physical education teacher who lost her job after she took maternity leave during the 2005-2006 school year has won her longtime lawsuit against the Southern Regional school district, according to app.com.
The district will have to pay Darcy Kolodziej $137,212 according to the state Commission of Education.
Kolodziej - formerly of Ship Bottom- was laid off in 2007, when district officials declined to renew her contract. Klolodziej said her tenure should have protected her from the reduction in force.

At issue were 30 days of seniority credits, the difference between either Kolodziej or another physical education teacher losing the job during a reduction in force.
