Free Stafford Workshop To Cover Rain Barrels, Water Conservation

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Stafford Township is inviting residents to a free rain barrel workshop later this month at Manahawkin Lake, where participants can learn how the systems collect rainwater and help reduce stormwater runoff. The workshop is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, at 6 p.m. at Manahawkin Lake, 48 N. Main St. in Stafford Township.

According to the township announcement, the workshop is aimed at homeowners interested in water conservation and more sustainable home practices. The session will cover how rain barrels collect and store rainwater, how harvested rainwater can be used for gardens and landscaping, the environmental benefits of reducing stormwater runoff and simple ways to conserve water around the home.
