GALLERY: Fire Company Keeping Kids Cool

On a second hot day of summer, Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company turned on the water for the local kids who needed to cool down.

Volunteers from Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Sation 11 came to the rescue once again this afternoon, water hoses at the ready, though there was no fire for them to put out this time. Instead, they were rescuing local kids from the heat.

Two fire engines brought in the equipment required to turn the old Edwards School field on Bridsall Street now used by the Barnegat Youth Lacrosse League and by the fire company as an emergency landing zone, into a water park on this scorching afternoon.
