The Youth Orchestra is a member-supported program allowing students in elementary through high school to explore advanced levels of instrumental music performance. Divided into three age-appropriate groups, each led by a qualified conductor/teaching artist, the Youth Orchestra rehearses weekly throughout the year and performs a minimum of two public engagements under the tutelage of professional artists. Advanced students have also been invited to perform alongside the professional musicians of the Philharmonic’s Orchestra as well as in special engagements at legendary Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall. The Youth Orchestra Program nurtures the instrumental talents of approximately 120 students annually.
