Get Ready To Rattle Again, Southern Ocean County
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst is conducting demolition training again this weekend.

You heard the booms three weeks ago ... get ready to hear them again.
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst announced that Marine Wing Support Squadron 472 will conduct demolition training at the Dix ranges Friday and Saturday.
“Combat engineers will detonate explosives between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. During this time, Joint Base and community residents may experience ground shaking and considerable noise, especially during overcast weather,” the announcement states.

“Joint Base MDL works hard to minimize the impact training may have on surrounding communities. We appreciate your patience as our Marines conduct this essential training, which ultimately helps to ensure the readiness of America’s fighting force,” it said.
During the training three weeks ago, the booms could be heard as far away as Eagleswood and Point Pleasant Beach.
