'Gut Feeling' Had Barnegat Toll Worker Call Out Before Crash
Jessica Daley had a "gut feeling" about a crash and called out of work. Several hours later, a garbage truck smashed into her toll booth.

BARNEGAT, NJ — A "gut feeling" may have saved a toll booth worker ahead of a violent crash on the Garden State Parkway last week.
Jessica Daley was scheduled to work at the Barnegat Toll Plaza on Friday, but had a "really bad gut feeling" that something was going to happen, she told NBC New York.
She told the news station that she woke up twice with a premonition that morning.

"I actually had a feeling that I was going to get in a car accident. And it was so strong, that I actually called out and I literally never call out of work," Daley told NBC.
And about four hours later, a garbage truck crashed into the booth - the one that Daley usually works in, according to NBC.

State police said that a pickup truck was stopped at the toll booth when the garbage truck crashed into the booth, sending debris into the pickup truck and the booth.
Both the driver of the garbage truck and the toll booth worker were injured, according to police. NBC reported that the toll worker was released from the hospital later that day.
Daley told NBC that when she found out about the accident, she fell to her knees crying. Her mother, Jennifer Daley, told the news station that her daughter's gut instinct was "a guardian angel."
"It's hard to feel so happy that my daughter wasn't there, and at the same time, feel heartbreak for the ones that were involved," Jennifer Daley said.
