With these most recent Team Awards, Extreme Gymnastics had each of their 3 qualifying teams rank in the TOP-9 of the JOGA Gymnastics Team State Championships this competitive season.
More Champs
Individually, the Gymdawgs added 4 more State Championships with GABBY CONFORTI, (2xs) EVA POLLAK, and KYLIE PICARO ending their seasons with 1st Place Spots on the podium; bringing Head Coach KIM LISOWSKI & her staff’s State Championship total to 117 now in the JOGA league.
All told, Extreme’s 10 gymnasts combined for 36 Top-10 medals and 14 Personal Bests vs. the 300+ competing athletes.
Level 2s moving on up
Manahawkin’s GABBY CONFORTI wound up winning the Level 2 State Championships on both Floor exercise and on Bars, while finishing up 3rd in the All-Around. With those 1sts she now has 6 Individual Championships won in her gymnastics career.
Little Egg’s EVA POLLAK had 3 Personal Bests to show for her efforts including a 36.675 in her All-Around, (which just missed on another Championship placing her 2nd), and a 9.5 on Floor, which won her the 1st Place medal on that event, making Eva an 8x State Champion!
HAILEY KLIMAS from Manahawkin had career highs on both Floor and on Beam where she had a nearly flawless, “stuck” routine and awarded her a 3rd Place medal on that apparatus.
Graduating senior, AUTUMN SHACKELTON from Holgate ended her season with a pair of 3rd Place medals on Floor exercise and on Vault, where in her final competing event ever, she posted a 9.3 Personal Best! Autumn finishes her Gymdawg career with 5 Individual State Championships won.
GABBY, EVA, and HAILEY all qualified to move up and will compete at Level 1 next season; the highest Level JOGA offers.
Saying goodbyes
Another of Extreme’s graduating seniors is LIZZY KARU from Toms River, who flashed in her finale with another “stuck” Beam and a Personal High on Vault with a 9.475 score there and enabled her to finish 2nd on that event and also gave her the distinction of putting up at least a 9.15 or higher on Vault in each and every meet this season. We are proud to announce that Lizzy will be joining Extreme’s coaching staff now that her competitive career is over with.
Barnegat’s KYLIE PICARO closed out her gymnastics career with a monstrous Personal Best on Balance Beam with a “stuck’ routine that went 9.65 and awarded her the Beam State Championship. While at Extreme Gymnastics, Kylie had 33 “sticks” on that event, is a 3x State Champion, and has the school’s highest all-time scores on Floor with a 9.7, on Beam with this year’s aforementioned total, and a gigantic 37.6 in the All-Around! Noteworthy as well, is the fact that Kylie put up a 9.0 or higher Vault in 32 of her final 33 competitions covering almost 6 years!
Tasty Beam “Stickers”
MIKAYLA RUA from Manahawkin and RYANNA KENNEDY of Barnegat added 2 more quality, “stuck” routines on Balance Beam.
Mikayla had 2 Personal Bests for the competition; in her All-Around where she improved by almost a half a point overall and on Floor where she posted an 8.55 giving her a 7th Place medal there.
Ryanna’s 9.15 on Beam was her first ever 9 on the event and gave her the 2nd Place award, just missing out on the Championship by a tenth! In addition to Balance Beam, Ry added 2 more Career Highs on Uneven Bars and in her All-Around.
More achievements
Whiting’s KAYLA MURDOCK was fractions away from Personal Tops in her All-Around and on Floor, but her efforts on the latter event was good enough to award her with the 5th Place medal for that event.
Extreme’s youngest competitor at these upper levels is 10-year old KAILEY TRIANT of Manahawkin, who ended her season with a Career High in her All-Around going 33.4 and just missed on another Personal Best on Floor, where she finished also with a 5th Place award.
