BARNEGAT, NJ — July 29 was the deadline for candidates to file to run for their local board of education in New Jersey.

Three seats are open for the Barnegat Township Board of Education for three-year terms, and one one-year unexpired seat is open too.

Here's who's running for office, according to the Ocean County Clerk's Office. Asterisk indicates incumbent.

On Nov. 5, Barnegat residents will also head to the polls to vote for two Township Committee seats. Running as Republicans are incumbents Pasquale (Pat) Pipi and Jake Townsend. Democratic challengers are Ron Naples and Claire Edelstein.
