International Kite Festival Continues On Long Beach Island Sunday and Monday
The American Kite Association and other international kite flyers will be on the island at various locations on both days.
Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane! Nope, it’s a whale.
The Long Beach Island International Kite Festival continues Sunday and Monday with a variety of demonstrations and kite-making classes on several beaches up and down the island.
Local artists and crafters will also be on hand making kites and monarch butterflies items for sale.

12 p.m. -Bol Racing-(round parachute like kite being pulled down beach)
2 p.m. - Bol Racing
3:00 Candy Drops
Ship Bottom 11th -16th streets, Oceanside
10 p.m. to 4 p.m. - Sport Kite Demonstrations, Competitions
Bol Races, Learn to Fly
Brant Beach Bayview Park 68th Street Bayside
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Island Surf & Sail providing Water Sport Rentals (conditions permitting)
10 p.m. to 2 p.m. - Kids- Sled Kite and Mini Butterfly Kite Making- Bay View Baseball Park
McKinley St., Holgate Oceanside
6 p.m. to 7 p.m. - Night Kite Fly
Bowker’s South Beach Grill - 5406 S. Long Beach Blvd, Holgate
Open to Public
7 p.m. to 10 p.m. - Bowker’s Dinner and Music Party (pay at the door)
Monday - Free Shuttle will be running 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. - Kiters’ Thank You Breakfast (private party)
Barnegat Light 18th-22nd St. Oceanside
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. -Buggy Kites (three-beach-wheeled buggy cart being pulled by kite/no engine)
All events are conditions permitting. Strong winds, and no wind will affect flying, kites will fly in rain if no lightning and they have reasonable conditions.
