Juvenile Flown To Hospital After Stafford E-Bike Crash: Police
A juvenile was flown to Jersey Shore after an e-bike crash at Parker Street and Hillard Boulevard, police said.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — A juvenile was injured Tuesday evening in Stafford after an electric bicycle crash with a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Parker Street and Hillard Boulevard, according to the Stafford Township Police Department.
Police reported officers responded to the crash on June 3, 2026, at about 6 p.m. The preliminary investigation found the juvenile was operating the e-bike on the shoulder of Hillard Boulevard while traveling against the flow of traffic.
At the same time, a passenger vehicle was stopped at the stop sign on Parker Street and was attempting to make a right turn onto Hillard Boulevard, according to police. As the vehicle entered the roadway, the juvenile's e-bike collided with the passenger side of the vehicle.

The juvenile was injured in the crash and was transported by medical helicopter to Jersey Shore University Medical Center for evaluation and treatment, police said. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
No charges have been filed, according to the police department. The crash remains under investigation by the Stafford Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.

The department also used the incident to remind residents that e-bike riders must follow traffic laws and stay aware of their surroundings. Police encouraged parents to review New Jersey e-bike laws with their children and make sure they understand when to yield, how to safely cross roadways, and the importance of wearing a helmet.
