Kid Attempts To Carjack Security Guard In Little Egg Harbor: Cops
The suspect pulled up to a park security guard, took out his knife and demanded to take the vehicle, police said.
LITTLE EGG HARBOR, NJ — A boy attempted a knifepoint carjacking at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Little Egg Harbor's Freedom Fields, police said. The suspect approached an Ocean County Park Security Guard's vehicle, took out a knife and demanded to take the vehicle, according to authorities.
The security guard pulled away, and the suspect ran into the woods, police said. Little Egg Harbor and Tuckerton police secured a perimeter for a K-9 search. Patrolman Brian Smith and his K-9, "Hooks," found the kid in the woods.
The boy was charged with carjacking, robbery, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, police said. Authorities are keeping him in a secure facility. His age was not provided.
