LBI Chowderfest Announces New Date After Postponement

BEACH HAVEN, NJ — Following the postponement of Chowderfest earlier in October due to heavy rain, a new date has been announced.

Chowder lovers will see the victor crowned on Oct. 15 now as the free event celebrates its 34th year.

"For the first time in the event’s 34 year history, the organizers were able to move it to a new weekend instead of canceling due to storm conditions," the Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce said. "The infrastructure of an event such as Chowderfest, continues to more towards a more resilient model."

Chowderfest will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Taylor Avenue Waterfront in Beach Haven.

Traveling Tasters had until Sept. 30 to vote for their favorites in the red, white and creative categories. The competing restaurants are as follows:
