LBI's How You Brewin Coffee Company Doubles In Size

SURF CITY, NJ — How You Brewin Coffee Company is expanding their Surf City location. The coffee shop will hold a grand opening from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 22, unveiling its expansion from 1,500 to 3,000 square feet.

The renovation began in November, when How You Brewin's proprieters secured approval from the Surf City Land Use Board to expand operations into the neighboring space. New amenities include a lush landscape, a spacious patio, a "mocktail" bar and cold brew production area.

The grand opening will feature special drinks, door prizes, a photo booth and musical performances from Dan Brown and Sahara Moon throughout the day. Local artist Matt Burton will display his work while a massage therapist from Beach House Spa in Surf City treats winning guests to free chair massages.

"The purpose of this grand opening celebration is to officially welcome the community to the space, thank loyal patrons for their patience and express our unending gratitude for the workers who made this project possible," said owner Dan Malay.

Customers can also participate in a coffee tasting and sit in on a home batch brewing mini-seminar on making consistent, tasty coffee in your own kitchen. Local baker Rafael Morillo from MKT Eatery will also join the shop to sell artisan breads. How You Brewin will also provide information on how the space can be used for private events, gatherings, meeting and lectures.

The expansion not only serves the growing fanbase but caters to the rising popularity of cold brews and mocktails, How You Brewin says. How You Brewin has been in business since 2004 and also has a shop in Barnegat Light's Viking Village.
