Barnegat Blizzard, Flooding Impact: Latest on Power Outages, Evacuations: UPDATED

Patch is providing a constant live feed of the Barnegat area.

Barnegat dealt with heavy flooding and around two feet of snow after Winter Storm Jonas hit the township and the rest of the state.

Much of the township along the back bay areas was evacuated as Barnegat deal with tidal flooding.

  • As of 7:40 p.m., police said power has been restored along the bayfront and mandatory evacuations have been lifted.

Earlier:

  • Power has been restored to all homes along Bayshore Drive between Route 9 and Clifton Road.
  • Voluntary evacuations for lagoon streets had been lifted.
  • The Brackman School Shelter has now closed. Residents can contact Barnegat PD for information on warming centers.
  • Barnegat schools will remain closed Jan. 25.
