Luxury Apartments, Retail Development Planned For Barnegat
"The Lofts at Barnegat" will feature 183 residential units and nearly 40,000 square feet of retail space, according to Edgewood Properties.

BARNEGAT, NJ — Changes to a luxury apartment and retail development project are set to be heard at the December Barnegat Planning Board meeting.
The Lofts at Barnegat is a mixed-use development with 183 residential units and 38,742 square feet of retail space, according to Piscataway-based developers Edgewood Properties.
The Asbury Park Press reported that the project would build 36 new townhouses, 147 apartments, a clubhouse, more than 30,000 square feet of retail space and 8,000 square feet of restaurant space.

The project was previously approved, but the developers are seeking changes to the retail space and adding three apartments, according to the Asbury Park Press.
A brochure for the Lofts at Barnegat says that the nearby neighborhoods of Settlers Landing and Lincoln Park "are completely underserved for shopping and dining needs."

It would be located off Route 9 and north of Georgetown Boulevard. You can see the entire site plan here.
Edgewood Properties is the same developer of the recently-approved controversial Lofts at Lacey development in Lanoka Harbor.
The project will be heard at the Planning Board meeting on Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m.
