Manahawkin Animal Shelter Appointment Only Until Further Notice

MANAHAWKIN, NJ — The Southern Ocean Animal Facility will only allow visitors who make appointments until further notice. The facility is taking precautions during New Jersey's outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Call the shelter at 609-978-0127 to set up an appointment for adoptions, reclaims, surrenders, rabies clinics and other shelter-related business. The North Ocean Animal Facility in Jackson is closed for renovations and won't reopen until further notice.

Officials have confirmed three cases in Ocean County — none in Manahawkin — as of Monday morning. Governor Phil Murphy announced 31 new cases in the state Sunday, bringing New Jersey's total up to 98. Read more: NJ Coronavirus Updates: Here's What You Need To Know
