Manahawkin Hit-And-Run Suspect Caught: Police
Matthew Clinton, 38, also had multiple warrants out of Seaside Heights and is accused of stealing thousands of dollars of power tools: cops.
MANAHAWKIN, NJ — Police caught a hit-and-run suspect who also had several warrants out of Seaside Heights and was recently charged with burglary and theft after stealing thousands of dollars worth of power tools and equipment, authorities said.
Stafford police were alerted to a hit-and-run crash on Nov. 15 at about 4 p.m. on Route 9 near Newell Avenue.
The caller said a white Jeep Patriot had fled the scene, and provided the license plate number, police said.

An officer saw that Jeep entering the Garden State Parkway and stopped it, police said. The driver was Matthew Clinton, 38, of Forked River, police said.

He was issued summonses for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and careless driving.
