MATES In Manahawkin Named A Top 10 New Jersey School

Marine Academy of Technology & Environmental Science received high marks on a list a list of the top New Jersey schools. MATES ranked 10th among all schools and fourth among public institutions in Niche's top 200 rankings of public and private schools.

Niche graded MATES an A+. The website ranks MATES highly on these national lists: 31st best public high school, 59th best public high school for teachers, 86th best high school for STEM and 93rd best college prep public high school.

MATES — part of the Ocean County Vocational Technical School district — is a specialized high school developed around marine and environmental science. The only public schools that ranked ahead of MATES on Niche's top 200 list were Bergen County Academies, Hackensack (third overall); High Technology High School, Lincroft (sixth); and Union County Magnet High School, Scotch Plains (seventh).
