May Is Older Americans Month: Events To Enjoy In Stafford

May is National Older Americans Month. Here's how you can celebrate with fun events in Stafford.

STAFFORD, NJ — May is National Older Americans Month, and Stafford is celebrating its older citizens with events through Stafford Recreation.

The fun kicks off May 4 with Senior Breakfast and Bingo at 10 a.m., presented by Seacrest Rehabilitation and Health Care Center and Stafford Recreation at the Bay Avenue Community Center.

The Bay Avenue Community Center will be hosting a Senior Dance and Lunch on May 13 from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

On May 20 at 11 a.m., New Jersey Natural Gas is hosting "A New Spin on Energy" at the community center with an interactive game and refreshments.

The Ocean County Health Department is hosting the "Shore To Age Well Fair" at the community center on May 31 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Stafford Recreation is also showing the classic comedy "Roman Holiday" on May 26 at 1 p.m. at the Pine Street Recreation Building in Manahawkin. To RSVP, contact Deb Budesa at 609-597-1000, ext. 8583.

Finally, the Stockton Center On Successful Aging is hosting the "Older Americans' Month Celebration" on May 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stockton at Manahawkin location. Activities include chair yoga, knit and crochet demonstration, meditation and more. Visit Stockton online to register.
